Natural STILLLIFE Perfume Brand From NYC

New natural perfume company STILLLIFE with its first five perfumes (roll-ons, oil-based) has been launched in New York City. Created as a side project of Tara Pelletier, co-founder ofMeow Meow Tweet, an all natural, vegan skincare company, STILLLIFE is a natural perfume studio free of toxins and synthetics and full of plants, rhythm and poetry.
STILLLIFE perfume is a story told in a certain place and time with a particular sound and mood. Each scent is inspired by and named for a story, poem or song that conjured an atmosphere, and was interpreted through olfactory aesthetics.
STILLLIFE perfumes are hand blended in tiny batches in Tara’s Brooklyn, NY studio. They are all natural, purely plant-derived and contain no synthetics. The scents are created using essential oils, extracts and absolutes from botanical ingredients that are harvested from the earth, such as flowers, fruits, sap, seeds, bark, leaves, roots and wood of certain trees. Each plant isolate is ethically sourced and of the highest quality. The scents are blended with certified organic jojoba oil and package it in a roll-on bottle with a recyclable paper pouch. Each 5 ml bottle is $50.
The brand launches with a portfolio of five complex and varying scents. Dreamtiger, with citrus, ylang ylang and vetiver and named for a short story by Jorges Luis Borges, is at first sweet and floral transforming to reveal a woody, mysterious tenor. The fresh and wild outdoors is captured in the balsam and sage Macondo, named for the remote village in 100 Years of Solitude. The allure and floral abandon of Wild Heart, like a bouquet of fresh cut flowers, captures the essence of the Stevie Nick's song of the same title.
Argonaut recalls the intrigue of Patti Smith's poetry with violets, clary sage and patchouli to create a fresh, bright and herbaceous floral scent. Finally, Green Cockatoo, named for the specter of paradise in Wallace Stevens’ poem “SundayMorning,” is a warm, sweet reminder of the fragrant, rural South with notes of tobacco and vanilla.
