Lôant Collection: New Scent Lôence and New Discovery Set

We have already written about young Catalan perfumer and fashion designer Santiago Burgas Bou, whose first fragrant collection, Lôant Collection, like all his work, was inspired by ants, or more precisely—by the signal system of ants. Lôence perfume is part of the Lôant Collection, as it can be blended with the other fragrances as a base note, and worn as an independent scent as well. It is issued in a limited edition of one thousand pieces.
This perfume arrived to be minimalistic, serious and very mature. Even if in Santiago's previous works you can feel some adolescent awkwardness, Lôence is a big and confident step forward.

"Lôence is the result of the gathering work of the royal entourage, and it offers us a mysterious and captivating fragrance. The Cashmeran wood gives us a sumptuous sensuality which embraces the cedarwood from Virginia together with the patchouli heart and, with their strength, they melt with Indian, Omani and Somalian frankincenses."

Top notes: Frankincense from Oman, Somalia and India
Heart note: Patchouli
Base notes: Cedar from Virginia, Cashmeran
Lôence first of all is a dance of several types of frankincense: a bitter-resinous one from Oman; a softer balsamic, gradually warming the composition up, Somalian frankincense; an Indian one, close in aroma to the one from Somali. Here you won't find any hint of the soft sweetish incense used in orthodox churches. The sharp inky-resinous note that opens the scent recalls several images, from a bitter toothpaste smell to the astringent woody note of oak bark. This explosion lasts for a couple of minutes and turns then to the softer and warmer waxy opening of Turquoise by Olivier Durbano and later recalls his dry and calm Black Tourmaline. The mix of frankincenses juggles either gently balsamic or sharp resinous notes till they are submerged and softened by velvety-dusty patchouli. At that stage Lôence recallsEutopie #6, when its first sweet notes are gone and the olibanum is already embraced by patchouli. But later Eutopie gets even more gentle, fluffy and rounded, whereasLôence continues its masculine woody-balsamic line.
Along with the new limited edition scent launch, Santi Burgas has made a re-designedLôant Collection discovery-set.
