Atelier Cologne has issued a new cologne absolue just in time for the holidays called Clémentine California...

The brand aims to cater to eau de Cologne fans who however prefer the traditional 18th century eau to be lasting. To stree the higher concentration of oils, the label now adds "pure perfume" to the idiosynratic terminology of "cologne absolue".

The unisex fragrance is said to be green, fruity and sweet. It features notes of Clementine, Mandarin, Juniper Berries, Star Anise, Sichuan Pepper, Basilica, Vetiver, Sandalwood, and Cypress.

Atelier Cologne Collection Orient: Encens Jinhae, Mimosa Indigo, Philtre Ceylan, Poivre Electrique, Tobacco Nuit

As a result of numerous trips taken by the founders and creators, Sylvie Ganter and Christophe Cervasel, to Asia and Middle East, they have created five new Colognes Absolue, all of which are a part of Atelier Cologne's new Collection Orient. Inspired by the region’s natural beauty, people and customs, and particularly the most precious raw materials, the refinement of these carefully selected raw materials illustrate treasured emotions and powerful memories. The Collection Orient follows after last year's collection AZUR, which encompasses four fragrances, and the recently launched fragrance BERGAMOTE SOLEIL. Atelier Cologne’s iconic flacon has been reinvented for Collection Orient. The glass is colored white reflecting modernity and purity. The golden caps pay tribute to the preciousness of the ingredients carefully selected to create each Cologne Absolue.

ENCENS JINHAE

Encens Jinhae was created of precious cherry blossom petals carried like snowflakes by the wind. They are combined with sophisticated spicy notes of pink pepper and nutmeg, and deepened with incense, patchouli, sandalwood and elemi. The brightness originates from Sicilian lemon and the floral warmth from Turkish rose.

MIMOSA INDIGO

For the composition of Mimosa Indigo - indigo mimosa from India was selected as the key ingredient, enveloped by a sensual chord of white leather, providing a luxurious and sophisticated character. Citruses and saffron develop a fine fresh veil, while sandalwood, vanilla and musk provide for a soft and creamy base.

PHILTRE CEYLAN

The focus of the fragrance Philtre Ceylan lies on aromatic notes of black and green tea, balanced with cold and powdery shades of iris. Spices and icy scents of mint and bergamot contribute to lightness and freshness, whereas guaiac wood and papyrus provide strength and a characteristic smoky trail.

POIVRE ELECTRIQUE

Poivre Electrique is built around chords of pepper – black bitter pepper and flirtatious, vibrant pink pepper, followed by an oriental union of resins, precious wood, incense and Turkish rose. Vibrant pepper is framed with bitter and optimistic zests of bitter orange.

TOBACCO NUIT

Tobacco blossom is the key ingredient of Tobacco Nuit which is enriched with spices, resins and woody notes. Clementine, coriander and cumin announce a rich and intense chord of tobacco blossom warmed with labdanum and tonka. Olibanum was set as an elegant cold veil, while depth, strength and earthy tone are created by cedar and patchouli.

Atelier Cologne enhanced their new collection with fragrance Jasmin Angélique which arrives after Oud Saphir and Pomelo Paradis also presented this year. The fragrance arrives as Cologne Absolue inspired by legendary eau de cologne in the strongest concentration, as Pure Perfume. This is the first time that citruses are blended with the most precious natural ingredients with an aim to create a perfectly balanced creation, more durable than classic Eau de Colognes. New from Aftelier: Bergamoss Solid Perfume

Natural perfume house Aftelier's newest release is a solid perfume. Offering a marriage of oakmoss with aromas recalling a wet forest floor, all topped with the citrusy freshness of bergamot, new Bergamoss "harkens back to the substantial and transporting chypres of old."by: Jodi Battershell

Perfumer Mandy Aftel says, "I was after a particular kind of chypre—one that was both rich and fresh, bright and heavy, sweet and loamy. I chose the particular essences for Bergamoss to merge with each other so completely as to blur seamlessly together. I didn't rely on the traditional diffusiveness of an alcohol-based perfume, but instead wanted the warm texture, solidness, and deep green color to be an intimate and intrinsic part of experiencing the perfume."

The bright opening notes include the fresh elegance of bergamot, boosted slightly by notes of the wild sweet orange, which Aftel says adds "its touch of dirty citrus." Citronellol, a natural isolate derived from geranium, contributes a flower note like a fresher, lighter, rosier rose. Peach, punctuated by the warm, woody spiciness of nutmeg absolute and the green rosy citronellol create a transparent floral layer at the heart of Bergamoss. The base features classic chypre ingredient oakmoss, warmed and buffed by soft and powdery coumarin as antique civet insinuates muskiness seamlessly into the mix. Flouve absolute, captured from the flowering tops of a sweet grass in France, contributes sweet and mossy herbaceous tobacco notes, along with powdery green aromas.

Bergamoss solid perfume is made in a base of organic unfiltered beeswax and organic jojoba oil. It comes in a refillable one-quarter ounce sterling silver compact ($240), and in a one-quarter ml sample ($6).

Atelier Cologne Oud Saphir

In May 2015 the house of Atelier Cologne is launching a new fragrance inspired by precious oud combined with fine spices and warm, soft aromas of suede. The elegant composition will be available in the characteristic flacon form in grey colored glass bottles, available as 100 and 200 ml Cologne Absolue.

ATELIER COLOGNE OUD SAPHIR opens with citrus drops of bergamot, spiced with pink pepper and ambrette seed. Notes of suede, birch and jasmine in the heart create harmony accompanied with dark, deep accords of agar wood, birch and sensual vanilla.
