Jade de Yardley (2013) por Anne-Sophie Chapuis

Jade desmistificou os chipres deixando a tríade bergamota,musgo e gálbano magnífica. Um chipre floral, envolvente, penetrante e diferenciado. Sai fresco com nuances verdes e um pouco aromático. Logo se torna um floral penetrante, sensual e classudo. Classe é algo que ele tem de sobra desde o início já se pode perceber que ele veio para abalar os sentidos e causar sensações. Ylang Ylang geralmente adocica mas nesse caso ele casou com o lírio e o jasmim deixando um rastro de finesse que é difícil deixar de notar. A composição é inebriante e pois ao mesmo tempo que lembra um jardim florido remete a folhas e flores caídas em uma arvore no outono. Não é um perfume com começo, meio e fim, ele é integro e posso arriscar dizer que muitas pessoas vão ter impressões diversas, até mesmo nas variações de temperatura. Não é para calor, isso notei. Aquela referência à feminilidade e à deusa Vênus é o que pode ter sido a inspiração da perfumista, algo que remete à perfumaria clássica de idos dos anos 60. O que se nota é  Anne-Sophie Chapuis tentou impor sua marca olfativa em sua primeira fragrância. É como se tivesse recriado Soir de Lune deixando-o mais usável e igualmente chique. Notável!

Interlude for men by Amouage

Amouage is Walt Disney of Arab perfumery world. Comparing to authentic Arabian perfume houses it made a portfolio with Arabian themes presented in a global benchmark and launched universally. By the other mean, it produces high level crowd pleasing perfumes that brought them the success of being the most famous sign of Arabian peninsula in entire perfume realm. Oman is a rich country in balsamic notes. Yearly, it produces many sort of incenses and balsamic notes not only for perfumery. There is not surprise when Amouage perfumes unlike many Arabian ones are based on spice and incense. Interlude is the summit point of the method. A chaotic dense multifaceted incense spicy woody fragrance with too much things to construct a tremendous fragrance (by the time of this last editing on my draft a friend has said that the new version is not that enormous). It is always considered a success point inAmouage standard portfolio. Interlude is delivered by Pierre Negrin in 2012 which is believed to be the same father of other Amouage perfumes since there's a common vein in all the creations.
Interlude is a hardcore incense fragrance with polygonal character. It initiates with charismatic vibe of severe masculinity based on immense gassy peppery vibe tamed by citric note. The notes in the opening are intense and carbonated that makes the opening way harsh yet promising of persuading incense heart. It's all supervised by resinous sweet myrrh which injects soft sweet balsamic smoky mist to the aggressive rioters of the intro.

Frankincense in this fragrance has overlooked rendition that unlike many of ambry or resinous fragrances does not illustrate that caramelized brown yummy color; it is dark and gray petroleum blue/green colored in my mind, a little gloomy shade on the bottle color.
The chest of the fragrance is not harsh like opening disorder. It is now monstrous dark indigo gray smoke composed upon balsamic notes swelled by leather accord; bitter and merciless; and accented with efficient agarwood and sandalwood. I listed too much notes and too much descriptions right? So Interlude is that confusing as the notes I wrote for!
Interlude is an active multifaceted solid incense icon programmed to satisfy every kind of incense fan in all. It presents many forms of incense in common plus leather and oud and savory crisp. What else an intense incense lover wants? But in spite of all its majestic attributions I found this dense and complicated woven structure a drawback ofInterlude cause it takes away one thing that is so important for fragrance: character.Interlude is like someone who shouts with loud voice and all he says is nonsense. Too much incense, too much woodsy, too much leather and too much spice, so one term I can't use to describe Interlude is delicate. It's a mystic ritual zestless stony incense.

It stays more than expected on skin; about 16 hours on my skin with no serious lack or looseness in sillage which is so strong. However, its projection is another matter of worry for me cause for such vulgar incense I wish less projection power. It is more than filling a room in just few seconds and leaves a huge trilling trail behind. Yet it is an indiscernible fragrance for every incense fan.

Amouage Sunshine for men

Recently the Omani house of Amouage made two surprises; Sunshine for man and for woman, which, both are totally out of opulent sultanate style of Amouage, both are out of incense which is cornerstone of Omani culture. While most of Amouage creations are cold-weather fragrances, the last pack offers summery mood!
It is not officially declared in the house's webpage but it is said the noses behindSunshine Man are Pierre Negrin (the most responsible portrait behind Amouagecreations) and Fabrice Pellegrin.
This review is only for masculine version. The feminine version, sooner or later, will be added to the actual review.

Sunshine Man opens out with immense and realistic lavender. The fragrance has a paradoxical treat inside; lavender and freshness are two not-completely-overlapping parties that come together in Sunshine Man. Although the opening is on pure lavender, and the next step is citric and fresh, and the base of the fragrance is identified by cedar, the pillars of structure are based on coumarin. Intense dose of tonkabean swirls into lanvender and construct the vintage dandy and chic character of the perfume. You feel it. You feel the retro aromatic spicy theme which appears with creamy delicious herbal mood.

Creamy for lavender, natural, filtered and refined. I'm not very good with listing notes one by one, so I skip over explaining the role of bergamot and junipers. They are minor parties of element. Brandy and cedar has great influence on overall composition. Sunshine Man in overall smells like tobacco and sun-oil! And unlike most ofAmouage creations which are impressive by their gigantic personas, Sunshine Man is straight sexy because of its simplicity and friendly manner. It sends a message, connects clearly, yet it is still firmly on Amouage's style, it's grand and bold. Just likeSunshine Woman it is not a fresh perfume, but it directly reminds summertime!

Sunshine Man is stingy, a little warm, a little herbal but not wild, it's urban, ultrachic, four season (not so wintery though, not even so summery), deep aromatic, spicy and active. It has great longevity (it stays for more than 18 hours on my skin) and great sillage (only over my wrist it flies softly and my sample is not a spray sample).
It's maybe not in my priority list but those who love lavender raw and bold, would most probably the ones who immediately put it in the basket after first testing! I assure!

Amouage Opus IX

Perhaps among those perfume houses located in Arabian peninsula, the house ofAmouage is the most successful and renown globally. This is not only because of their impressively extravagant creations, but also for their tendency to western world and spirits while preserving original Omani atmosphere and their tradition of incense. This, for sure, needs artistic and smart management which we all know who's behind the scene; Christopher Chong.
Less than a couple of months ago the house announced for their new member of the Library collection: Opus IX. The variety of auras in this nine-opera collection is like a bookshelf full of the top sellers of the century. All are impressive, all are remarkable. From the first Opus, back in 2010, to the ninth there's a considerable growth and evolution. Seems Amouage is reaching a summit step by step.
Opus IX as declared in the house's webpage, is inspired by La Traviata; an opera in three curtains composed by Giuseppe Verdi, set by Venetian libretto Francesco Maria Piave and performed for the first in 6 March 1853 in Venezia.

The opera is set to Alexander Dumas' novel; La dame aux Camélias (aka Camille) published in 1848. Although the first performance of the opera has changed the novel and narrated a story back in 1700, Verdi and Piave in 1880 could finally reach their goal and set the opera to a contemporary story and in the book. The main character of the play is named Violetta; however, the main character of the novel is named Marguerite Gautier (a demi-mondaine loved by several men and suffering from tuberculosis). The story, is narrated by the other main character; Armand Duval. Marguerite is named The Lady of the Camellias after her habit of wearing white camellia for when she is ready to make love with her lovers, and red camellia for when she denies the lovers for the time her uncomfortable condition intensifies.

The performance is in three acts: the Act I is Violetta's interpretation: parties, jovial life in which she's the focal point of attraction. In Act II she runs away with his lover to rural life: settled but not joyous. Act III is her tragic fall and droop.
Pierre Negrin and Nathalie Lorson have transferred the trio into liquid form elaborately. The beginning of the fragrance is harsh, strident and inharmonious, with too much pepper and flowers (jasmine and camellia accord; I have heard that camellias have no smell by default). The floral accord is highly dusty, green and indolic like sound of cello in adagio. The beginning shows up a paradoxical feature: a soprano-to-tenor variation of floral/peppery character. Harshness, and luxury. The balance of notes in the opening and in the overall when the animalic nuances appear, reminds me light and extreme darkness in urban sketches of infamous British painter Jeanette Barnes: dark vision of ordinary stuff.

The heart of the fragrance is just the extension of what happened in the opening but with woodsy vibe. Beeswax, leather, and wood; aspects of pastoral life and stability. Then finally the animalic vibes construct the base of the performance and smoothen the throne for Camille's death. It's civet, in cloak of death coming for jasmine. Blackness attacks light.
Now, concluding the perfume. Experimentally, Opus series are not so wearable fragrances. They are massive, brutal, absolute and dense. Many people may not love to smell like that! Opus IX is not an exception.
A friend of mine described it: "Opus IX is like a teenager who wears mom's dresses, wears over-age perfume and silly over-makeup to expose older than her real age". In fact there's a immaturity behind that massiveness and seemingly it tries to not show it behind immense jasmine assault.
The rough texture of smell in Opus IX conflicts with Venetian-red bottle and gold label on it, which signify wealth and luxury. Basically, for a grown house like Amouage, theLibrary collection is just demonstration of art and culture and I swear they even don't vacillate if you deny it!

Interlude Man: Amouage's new Album!

Interlude Man drives me crazy. There are some aspects that I completely dig and others that I really can't get past. 

You're at a concert. The hall is packed with people waiting for the band to go on stage. Everybody talk to their friends and the overall result is the messy, cacophonic sound of thousand of people speaking at once but saying different things. You can't discern what they're talking about but you can clearly hear female voices mixed with male voices, someone is laughing hard, someone is screaming with excitement, others are calmly commenting the facts of the last few days. Everyone says something but you don't understand a thing, you just grab a bunch of words here and there but they make no sense at all. Well, this is how the Interlude Man opening acts on my olfactive sense. I pick hints of the spicy-oudy accord of Epic Man paired to a sweetish, almost gourmandic vibe and mixed with culinary herbs. A sparkling bergamot note serves as a slightly strident juxtaposition to the overall dark vibe but everything is so cacophonic to relust somewhat messy and confusing.

The lights on the stage start to play funny patterns announcing  the imminent start of the show. The general hubbub clams down and people focus their attention to the stage where the band's members are grabbing their instruments. The show begins, the crowd goes wild. This is the best part of the fragrance where a dark green earthy-herbal accord distantly reminescent of Memoir Man, is paired to the balmy quality of opoponax. Just magnificent. Moderately sweet, deep, dark and extremely addictive.

The show goes on and the band start to play a bunch of new tracks from their latest, partially successfull, album. Exaltation leave space to a bit of disappointment. You expected to hear more of the older classics but the band is now focused on promoting their news style which you're not very fond of. This is when Interlude Man introduces its drydown which is sweet, ambery, smoky and woody. Something we've already experienced in Opus IV, V and VI and something that seems to have become the new Amouage hallmark.

Downline: The show was somewhat good and at times funny, the band is technically perfect, some of their greatest songs still rock but, what seems to have become their new path is not completely convincing and feels a bit uninspired. Worthy the full price ticket? No, at least not to me. I'll check their next live shows on youtube first.

Note: The show lasted a good 11 hours (quite a perfomrace for a band) and the sound projection was awesome!

Diamond de Yardley (2014)

Realmente estive em dúvida sobre a proposta desta composição. Toda noturna porém me remete a um clima mais primaveril e até mesmo dúbio. As notas de mel me lembraram caramelo e ficaram destacadas durante toda a longevidade da fragrância bem como o boque floral. Tem um pouco de cítrico frutal, nada que tenha me incomodado porém a saída não me agradou, como se destoasse da composição. O que segue é flores e mel. De início a rosa é extrema e muito presente. Um leve atalcado. Algo relaxante, talvez lembrando sabonete, com um toque verde. Como é sempre adocicado o que me agradou foi o amadeirado almiscarado que dá um contraste bem sedutor. Como resumir a sensação? Oriental. Talvez seja a palavra pertinente, é um oriental característico. Elegante e feminino. Fixa como uma segunda pele e projeta muito de início logo vai ficando mais suave, rente. Como se fosse feito para ser usado com um bom vestido solto e florido em uma noite especial.

Existem sim! Após um exame clínico com o especialista, a investigação adequada e a descoberta da causa, os tratamentos são efetivos e promovem a melhora. O importante é a identificação da causa, pois o tratamento vai variar de acordo com o problema apresentado. Por exemplo, no caso da calvície, tanto masculina quanto feminina, podemos usar medicações especificas através de loções, xampus e comprimidos.
