Hermès Le Parfum de la Maison

Hermès launches a new collection of room fragrances named La Parfum de la Maison which arrives in sales on December 1, 2014 in official Hermès stores worldwide. The first step in that direction was made by the house of Hermès in June 2014 by promoting their collection of bath products. An interesting fact is that the new collection of room fragrances/scented candles was created by Celine Ellena, the daughter of the famous Hermès house perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena. She explains that room fragrance are like little dreams. “When someone is at home, they hear the small sounds of the house, the breathing of the house,” said Céline Ellena, calling it a “false silence” that allows someone to begin dreaming. “The home fragrances are the little dreams. It’s as if you listen to a sound with your nose. It’s a whisper — but olfactive. It is a fragrant sound. They are my dreams,” adds Celine for wwd.
The names of the new collection of room fragrances are as follows: Des pas sur la neige (Footprints in the Snow), Temps de pluie (Wet Weather), Fenêtre ouverte(Open Window), Champ libre (Open Field) and À cheval! (On Horseback!).
As for the design of the new project, the person in charge was Guillaume Bardet who played on paper, its refined texture and fragrances. The story began with a small horse, the symbol of Hermès. Inspired by an origami horse, designer Bardet created candle jars using porcelain. The exterior of the jars is white while the interior is colored in pastel shades representing the scents of these candles.
The candles are available in three sizes: 220 gr priced at 150 eur/ $187 ; 620 gr for 250 eur / $312  and 1100 gr for 350 eur / $436. Besides the candles, the offer includes perfumed paper horses. A packet of four scented-paper horses will be 85 euros, or $106, and the perfumed pebble will be priced at 200 euros, or $249.
