New Fragrance: Rancé 1795 Éléonore

by: Miguel Matos

The house of Rancé 1795 is preparing to launch a new feminine fragrance at the end of March 2016 at the Esxence niche perfume expo in Milan, but Fragrantica got an exclusive for the pre-announcement of the edition. The fragrance is called Éléonoreand it is the first gourmand within the Collection Impériale in the brand. The focus is on fruits, cakes and resins, providing a contrast of these elements. Napoleon III escapes from the riots in 1840 and a quick encounter with a young woman makes him remember her smell while he runs. He cannot escape the romantic feelings as he recalls the smell he felt on her. She is still waiting for a next encounter in the “patisserie” where she works. The intriguing story of Éléonore and Louis Bonaparte inspired this fragrance of love and desire...the urgency to escape but the desire to stay...

“The light of Sicilian Lemon and the soft nuances of Peach are enveloped by the bewitching power of Myrrh. In the heart, the uncompromising intensity of Vanilla plays with Saffron in a game of light and shadow. In the base, the quintessence of preciousness: Patchouli, Sandalwood and the mysterious Incense. Final touches of Tonka Bean and Musk enhance the soft, powdery afterglow of the fragrance.” - Rancé 1795
