AMOUAGE's special collection THE LIBRARY COLLECTION adds their 10th fragrance in March 2016! The Library Collection was launched in 2010, and its last edition was offered in 2015, under the name of Opus IX. This perfume came in a dark red flacon and was inspired by the opera "La Traviata" from 1958 as performed in Lisbon.
OPUS X was inspired by the legendary red violin 'Red Mendelssohn' Stradivarius, which served as the inspiration for the movie "The Red Violin" from 1998, directed by Francois Girard, which received an Academy award. The Canadian drama speaks about the famous instrument and its numerous owners during four centuries. The movie was done as an international co-production of companies from Canada, Great Britain and Italy.
The composition of OPUS X opens with centifolia rose, blood rose chords, rose buds and the organic ingredient rose oxide, which can be found in roses and rose water. The development of the fragrance accentuates geranium, leather and lacquer chords (lacquered wood) on the skin, while the base is composed of the ambrarome molecule, oud from Laos, ylang-ylang and a metallic chord!
