L'Harlequin for L'Incendiaire: Numbered Engraved Editions by Serge Lutensser

by: Elena Vosnaki

Serge Lutens has been prolifically producing limited edition engraved bottles of his epoch-making fragrances this year. Apart from the quartet of bell-jars with the Romanov double-eagle on the front for La Vierge de Fer, which we presented here on Fragrantica with photos, and the rather ironic hammer & sickle bottle of L'Eau Froide, now another trio of uniquely engraved and numbered editions is making its appearance at the Lutens boutique in Paris.
The super posh editions concern L'incendiairea unique and fiery fragrance by the maestro that belongs to the already ultra-luxurious Collection d'Or, identifiable by the gold leaf front of the bottles and the Arab inspiration behind most of the names. The scent inside remains the same, only the bottles take on a new lease on life.
Oddly enough, the chosen design for these rare limited editions depicts the classic Harlequin/Arlequin of the commedia dell'arte of the 1670s, rendered in a cubist style. The editions come in three colors: gold, silver and graphite.
