Remarkable People by Etat Libre d'Orange

This year, at the Esxence expo in Milan, French iconoclastic brand Etat Libre d'Orange is surprising us again, by presenting a fragrance that is ... nice. Yes, gone are the days of pure provocation with things like Secretions Magnifiques or Putain des Palaces. After the latest “nice” editions of La Cologne and True Lust Rayon Violet de Ses Yeux, there is another nice scent to compose a well behaved trilogy. This fragrance, soon to be launched in the market, is called Remarkable People.

What is the smell of Remarkable People? What do they wear?

Apparently they like to smell very elegant, sweet and bubbly. There is an obvious champagne vibe to this new fragrance. But don't think that Remarkable People is a groundbreaking scent. It's not. Is it because if people are remarkable they do not need to amplify their aura? This is an easy fragrance. An agreeable one. And it is quite addictive, in its apparently simple composition. If you add musks, pepper and woods to the champagne, it makes the perfume go into a sensual path. And because it is rather light, you feel like you want to be close to that person to enjoy this smell again. It's sexy in that way.

Remarkable People is composed by these main notes: Grapefruit, Champagne Accord, Cardamom, Jasmine, Curry, Black Pepper, Labdanum, Sandalwood, Lorenox. And if after reading the list, you feel scared (curry, pepper and cardamom can be dangerous), just take my advice. It's not scary. It's soft. The secret of the composition lies in the proportion of the ingredients. It's not a daring fragrance. It's not 100% original, either. But it's very pleasant and it surely is a very good way to get introduced to this brand if you never tried any of their perfumes.

Etat Libre d'Orange enthusiastically accepted an offer from the descendants of the Marquis de Sade (who love and loyally wear Fils de Dieu) to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Marquis de Sade's death. They did not have time to create a special perfume, but they dressed their Fils de Dieu in new packaging, with promised news in the future.
