Nicolas Ghesquière introduced a new sleeve silhouette at Louis Vuitton on Thursday morning. We’ve seen the poofy sleeve a bit elsewhere, but he made it a strident part of his collection for the now-influential label, in look after look.
That’s like planting seeds. Because it comes from Ghesquière, it’s sure to soon inspire more poofy sleeves. He’s the guy responsible for the spicy brown and orange colors and late ’70s styles that are currently trendy around the globe.
His fall collection turned more disco—yeti fur coats, structured slip dresses, miniskirts and sparkles. Prepare to dance the night away in poofy sleeves. —Christina Binkley
2. Moncler Gamme Rouge: An Evening Ride

Moncler Gamme Rouge invited guests to an evening canter through the woods. Set up in the Salon d’Honneur of Paris’s Grand Palais was a web of glittering gravel paths between heaps of autumn leaves. The sound of trotting horses played in the background.
Moncler rose to fame in recent years by selling down jackets across the globe, and notably dressing high-profile celebrities in the pricey parkas. The company’s success has allowed it to branch out with lines of designer after-ski wear, menswear—its Gamme Bleu—and womenswear—Gamme Rouge.
Gamme Rouge designer Giambattista Valli mixed riding coats, flared A-line skirts, pleats and fur panels, some worn under translucent PVC skirts and coats. The performance culminated in a finale of male dancers dressed like British military guards in red coats and tall fur hats marching up the runway followed by female models, also in red coats. —Nadya Masidlover
3. Miu Miu: Lovely in Leather

For her Miu Miu line, Miuccia Prada stopped just short of twee.
What to buy: shiny, embossed leather coats, any of the truly excellent shoes and handbags.
What to avoid: the tweed dresses that even your mother disliked in 1968.
Miu Miu closes fashion month and the scene after the show is marked by people hugging and kissing and saying goodbyes...until next season. It’s a lot like summer camp.
So that’s a wrap on Fall 2015. —Christina Binkley
