Santi Burgas WHITE COLLECTION

According to Santi Burgas the new line of fragrances, WHITE is an unplanned collection created as a painting on white canvas, depicting four new fragrances created of top quality ingredients. He created the collection in tune with the current moment, as an olfactive symphony that will be highly appreciated by perfume fans. His collection is not inspired by trends, but is a result of unplanned formulas without particular rules or recipes.   The creative director of the collection is Santiago Burgas, a passionate fan of Costa Brava and the world of animals. Since he was a child he was attracted by the game of materials, thread and needle. When he was six he started sewing. The projects he does are unique for their elements from nature, the life of insects, particularly the behavior of ants. The first collection of fragrances, LOANT COLLECTION (ants’ water) was presented in 2013 and composed of fragrances created in a characteristic way—they can be mixed by creating layers. The new collection, White, was presented by Santi exclusively at art perfume show ESXENCE 2015 in Milan.

The White collection arrives in white flacons which contain the aspect of ceramics, alluding at purity, while stoppers are made of untreated wood from European forests. The collection encompasses four perfumes created to convey or to remind us of pleasant moments. Santi went in four directions which resulted in fragrances: Egnaro, Miss Betty Vair, Flaming Red and Oud de Burgas.

The dynamics of the compositions and the strength of united ingredients leave a completely different impression compared to the minimalistic look of the flacons. Egnaro awakens us with aromas of the Mediterranean coast and it reminds Santi of hot summer days of 1992 when he traveled from Valencia to Palermo, with stops in Barcelona, Marseilles, Genova and Naples. An idyllic memory of childhood was revived in fragrance Egnaro which blends oranges from Valencia with anise and ginger, refreshing them with Calabrian bergamot. To provide depth and briskness, he introduces an animal accord of civet, while he described the pleasant warmth of summer days and the carefree impression of childhood with amber and sandalwood. The composition contains an unusual combination of Italy, France and Spain by lining up the ingredients which described the temperament of the Mediterranean.

The second fragrance of the WHITE collection is Miss Betty Vair, enriched by Santiago with a woodsy-spicy-musk character. The composition intertwines oak moss, Indonesian patchouli, Java vetiver, nutmeg and white musk as is described as follows: "Its deep roots represent efforts and persistence. Its tears are engraved on its face. Its attitude of dedication exudes peace. Its smile transmits pleasure and joy and assures us that it will never fail us. Miss Betty Vair brings hope," says Santi. "Betty Vair (sounds Vetiver), it is a tribute to the mums, grandmothers, all women that raise the families and the countries with their quiet work. I take the Vetiver, because it's a plant whose deep roots can grow up to two meters. When you look at the vetiver, you can't imagine the profound roots, as same as the suffering that most women have had in their lives," adds Santi.

Flaming Red introduces briskness and exciting, true love. The composition is created of flowers, exotic fruit, hot resins, wood and vanilla to convey the feeling of yearning, and it describes the moments when your heart beats faster and faster because of the person you love. Bulgarian rose and Toscana iris intertwine and create a floral essence enveloping sweet and exotic scents of passion fruit, resting on precious oud from Laos combined with amber and Bourbon vanilla.

The fourth fragrance of the collection, Oud de Burgas described enjoying tranquility and time spent with your beloved one. Each moment is precious and all attention is directed to unity. Santi envisages the composition this way:  "You and me alone, covered by a blanket of stars in the desert, surrounded by silence, with the sole company of camp fire, its flickering flames lighting up a new horizon. Alone, with the hope of reaching true happiness. We know we are together under the moon and I can see the moonlight reflected in your stars." Notes of the oriental composition blend Madagascar cloves, gurjum balm, cypriol, cedar, orris root, guaiac wood, Suyufi agar and Australian sandalwood.

Fragrance Egnaro was created by Santi Burgas while the remaining three fragrances, Miss Betty Vair, Flaming Red and Oud de Burgas, were created in collaboration with perfumer Chris Maurice. The fragrances are available as 100 ml Eau de Parfum. Santi Burgas informs us that the new collection can be expected on the market in June 2015.
