Despite Thierry Wasser's announcement that he is not fond of the production of flankers, there is news from Guerlain about a sixth flanker of Shalimar—Shalimar Cologne. Other recent versions of Shalimar were: already discontinued Shalimar Parfum Initial; Shalimar Souffle de Parfum, launched several months ago and Eau de Shalimar, that has existed already for several years and is considered to be the oldest Shalimar flanker amongst those in production (but there are rumors that Eau de Shalimar will be discontinued, too).
New Shalimar Cologne is not connected to classical Shalimar Eau de Cologne, issued in 1937 as a fresher and cheaper version of Shalimar.
Shalimar Cologne has a completely new pyramid, described as a "resolutely modern signature." It starts with citrusy accords of lemon, grapefruit, lime and bergamot. The heart incorporates floral notes of rose, freesia and jasmine. There is a "purified" vanilla, white musk and orris in the base.
One more news item from Guerlain is an anouncement about Le Boisé Torride scent from Les Elixirs Charnels line being discontinued, starting June 2015.
