The first time we saw these peculiar bottles at Pitti Fragranze in 2013, they were designed by Pierre Dinand to show "all the ugly beauty" of an anatomical heart. The brand was founded in Sydney, Australia, by Sarah Blair and filmmaker Jaffrey Darling.
Three hearts (red, black and clear) represent a good attempt to embrace different desires: a casual everyday unisex Clear, an evening incense-based mysterious Blackand a feminine fruity floral Red. The founders promised the story was to be continued. The red one, a juicy Brazilian feijoa fragrance, won my heart. It is a nice example of a new generation of fruity floral fragrances that carries great potential.
The new Golden one illustrates a very actual idea— which was said not once atEsxence: a strong wish for peace and love in the world. The golden color was chosen to say that the gold people want to own can't be acquired with money, but it is what we make around ourselves with our good feelings, intentions and deeds.
The fragrance combines three major accords/meanings: metallic, to illustrate the actual gold; a very comfortable note of milk to bring us to our beginning and earthy saffron to hint at an end to our earthly journey. Altogether they give a peculiar sensation of a gourmand aromatic fragrance with spicy and woody facets.
Modern fragrances have already grown out of any classical olfactory classification, which I absolutely congratulate. Gold Heart V 4 is one of them. To enjoy it fully, you need to be informed about its inspiration in the first place.
The bottle is comfortable to hold in the hand. I believe it is also the actual size of the heart, which at first makes holding it a little uncomfortable.
