Penhaligon's Est. 1870 will launch 2 new her-and-him fragrances called Blasted Bloom and Blasted Heath for fall 2015, which are inspired by romantic and kinetic depictions of the wild coastal landscape of Northern Scotland...
Both eaux de parfum were created by perfumer Alberto Morillas of Firmenich; he is also the founder of a perfume house of his own called Mizensir.

This exercise in olfactory creativity is said to be an opportunity to explore a specific palette of textures and colors including "neutral cold colors, earthy browns, marine blues - textures which are inspired by boulders, barks or loam," (Editor's translation.) Morillas said that he imagined the fragrances as if they were spontaneous photographies of a landscape.
Blasted Heath for Men is an interpretation of how it feels to sense high waves coming crashing down on the heath on earth.
It opens on top notes of aquatic accords, seaweed absolute, clary sage absolute then leading to a heart of green leaves, Clearwood™, absolute of tobacco absolute, whiskey accords. The base rests on patchouli, essence of cedarwood from Alaska, vetiver CO2, gaiac wood essence and musks.
Blasted Bloom for Women is a floral interpretation of the same natural phenomenon whereby instead of the mist of the sea fragrancing the heath, it perfumes the flowers on land.
The edp opens on top notes of wild berries, an aquatic accord and green leaves. In the heart, there are notes of sweet briar (Rosa rubiginosa), pink peppercorn CO2, hawthorn (Crataegus). The base features essence of cedarwood from Alaska, a whisper of Clearwood™, moss and musks.
Prices: 145€ for 100 ml and 115€ for 50 ml.
Launch date is set towards the beginning of Sept. 2015.
