Among niche perfume companies some have set the bar high, perhaps too high, with meticulous attention to detail and formulae and flacons which are hard to replicate. In order to have luxury, you might as well create something that can't copied. A SACRED AND SHAMANIC WOOD
"I wanted to work with a different wood, a wood that is both fresh and sensual. I recently discovered the Palo Santo and I have been immediately seduced by this wood, first by its smell then by its history. This South America’s sacred wood, used by shamans in order to keep at bay the bad spirits and diseases, develops a mystical scent. I like the idea that we must burn it to reveal its scent, I see a return to the perfumery’s fundamentals, at the time of Per Fumare, the fragrance that was as a steam for the Gods offering. I’ve created this fragrance combining Myrrh and Incense with Atlas cedar, Nutmeg and Calabre Bergamot in order to bring its freshness and contrast. The precious Musk welcomes the woody composition of the note for more comfort and sensuality. I wanted this fragrance to be surprising and reassuring as a prayer turned toward the heaven."—Alexandra Monet

THE STORY BEHIND LE 15, LIMITED EDITION
The fragrance is an Extrait de Parfum designed to go back to the roots of perfumery, created in a Limited Edition of 1 500 silkscreen printed bottles. With Le 15, The Different Company tradition brings a new perspective to a millenium old art and gives you an infinite pleasure with a touch of elegance. All details have been specifically designed; a pure platine print screen on the bottle, a silver ink label on the box, a high quality box you can keep for further use.
A FEW HISTORICAL TIDBITS ON PALO SANTO
A South American magic wood, the Palo Santo was used by the Incas for its power. It has many remarkable qualities: relaxing, antioxidant but also spiritual properties, todays, the South Americans, and particularly the Peruvians are devoted to it and use it for medicinal purposes. Used as incense, the Palo Santo wards off evil, it is a "soul tree revealed when burnt " sings the Peruvian singer Olga Milla. This divine tree grows in dry earth, which give it its power, but it needs more than two years, laying down on the ground, to fully release its properties. The tradition requires to not cut the tree and let it die and fell down. Todays in South America, espacially in Ecuador, it is forbiden to cut a Palo Santo tree which is a protected species. The Palo Santo releases a woody ambered, resinous and spicy perfume, softens by fresh floral notes.
Alexandra has carefully chosen Bergamot, Petitgain, Nutmeg, Atlas Cedar, Gaïac wood, Vétiver, Incense, Myrrh, and Cistus (labdanum) for Le 15. The perfume is further garlanded by hedione (luminous jasmine) and various musks.
